I started my journey of formation in ICAM (Institute of Catechetics of the Archdiocese of Manila) last April 02, 2018. I was quite excited and on the other hand, worried because I do not know how to do lesson planning and has no background in teaching. At first, I do not know what to do because I know none of my classmates, but then after I also find myself comfortable with them. Continua a leggere

Laura Leroux de Bauffremont is an extraordinary woman with an extraordinary mission.

Reading her short biography a short impression comes to my mind, “How could this fickle-minded French woman who was used to luxurious things found and handle an Institute of the Sisters?” Her life is a roller coaster ride which, as a reader, could bring me up, down and sideward with a twist ahead. She became an instrument of God’s love in the weakest and hardest point of her life so that the will of God may prevail. “The Wisdom of God, who is one, can do all things and renew everything while herself perduring” (Wis.7:27). She has this attitude of strong will-power which God uses to manifest His goodness and great love for us. And thus, she became the strength of all the sisters who was depending on her financially and as their guide spiritually to discern the will of God.

“How wonderful are the ways of Divine Providence, which nobody has the right to ask why this way and not otherwise.” (Memory Story)

This encounter with her, Laura Leroux, foundress of the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart (FMSC), teaches me to be more dependent to God and let Him use me for a greater good. She helps me to widen my understanding of things which is impossible to possibilities. As a foundress of an Institute, she never abandoned her children; though she was absent physically she was with them spiritually in prayer. And it makes me understand how community life is very important in this life which I am embracing right now.

May her life, though full of short comings, disappointments and hardships, be the guide of those who are to embrace a life of poverty, simplicity and humility in the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart (FMSC).
